The Emirates Football Association launches a campaign to educate athletes about the harm of doping

The UAE Football Association, in cooperation with the National Anti-Doping Agency, launched the “No Doping” campaign with the aim of educating athletes in general and football practitioners in particular about the harms of doping and the effects of its use, through a series of lectures, seminars and initiatives targeting players and members of technical, administrative and medical bodies. For clubs and national teams, in addition to publishing a set of posters and videos with the participation of Emirati football stars carrying different messages about the dangers of doping, this campaign comes to raise awareness and medical knowledge about doping and its negative effects.

Muhammad Abdullah Hazam Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Football Association, said in a press statement that the campaign comes within the framework of the federation’s efforts to raise the rate of medical culture among all members of the football game, especially with the beginning of the new football season 2021-2022 and informing players periodically and continuously of the resulting negative effects. On the use of steroids in various local and continental competitions.

The Secretary-General praised the great efforts made by the National Anti-Doping Agency through its organization of many workshops and seminars, both for sports federations and institutions as well as players, stressing the Football Association's support for all plans and initiatives of the Agency for sports competitions free of doping.

For her part, Dr. Rima Al Hosani, Head of the National Anti-Doping Agency, confirmed that the campaign comes within the framework of strengthening the principle of the agency’s strategic partnership with the Emirates Football Association and emphasizing the importance of the positive role played by the Football Association in combating doping in sports, raising awareness among players, encouraging clean sports and building the base of fair sport among Age groups and youth.  

She said: "The initiative also reflects the confidence of the Football Association in the National Anti-Doping Agency, the national representative in the field, and emphasizes the need for joint cooperation to achieve the goals. The campaign aims to raise awareness among players and educate them to protect them from the danger of doping."
