At the Tokyo Paralympics, Tokyo planned to invite about 500 children from Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima, and Kumamoto in the disaster area to the competition venue in Tokyo, but decided to forgo it.

The reason is that the city is demanding refrain from moving across prefectural borders and that it is necessary to curb the flow of people to prevent the spread of infection.

The capital says, "I'm sorry I couldn't invite you to the Paralympics following the Olympics, but it's unavoidable."
