Yuhei Yasuno (31), a class of men's 100 meters and cerebral palsy, has been newly selected as the representative of Japan for the Tokyo Para-Athletics.

Forty-five athletes have already been decided to represent Japan on the track and field of the Tokyo Paralympics, but since the international competition group has given them a quota, the JPC = Japan Paralympic Committee has decided to add Yasuno to represent Japan.

With this, the number of Japanese national teams on land facing the Tokyo Paralympics will be 46, including 26 boys and 20 girls.

Yasuno is 31 years old from Yonago City, Tottori Prefecture.

I have cerebral palsy and have hearing problems, but when I was 16 years old, I started a wheelchair marathon and won a prize at an international competition.

After that, I strengthened the start dash with 100 meters of the wheelchair to participate in the Paralympics and grabbed the ticket for the Tokyo Paralympics.

Mr. Yasuno commented, "I was able to come this far with the support of many people. I want to run with gratitude."
