A British athlete who won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics men's 400m relay was provisionally suspended for a positive doping test.

The person who was punished was Chijindu Ujah, a 27-year-old British representative of the Tokyo Olympics.

Uja had a personal best of 9 seconds 96 in the men's 100 meters and was eliminated in the semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics, but he made one run in the 400 meters relay and contributed to winning the silver medal in the United Kingdom.

The World Athletics Federation's surveillance agency, the Integrity Unit, said on the 12th that Uja tested positive for two banned drugs, including "Ostalin," in a test conducted after the 400m relay final on the 6th of this month. Announced that it was temporarily suspended.

These prohibited drugs are meant to have a muscle-building effect.

In the future, if Britain is disqualified due to Uja's doping violation, Canada in 3rd place will move up to the silver medal and China in 4th place will move up to the bronze medal.

The gold medal was Italy and Japan was abstained due to a baton mistake.
