In the type of operation of the century, we have known better.

Seven years after selling Romelu Lukaku to Everton, Chelsea have decided to take over their former player from their last club, Inter Milan.

All in a transfer estimated at 115 million euros by the Italian and British media.

A transaction which is undoubtedly worth the candle in view of the recent level of play of the Belgian striker, but which must also leave a touch of regret to the leaders of the Blues.

The player is happy.

"It was a long journey for me: I arrived here when I was a child and I come back with experience and maturity," said, quoted in a statement from the club, Romelu Lukaku whose transfer.

2nd biggest English transfer

Lukaku's transfer fee is the 2nd largest sum ever spent by an English club to acquire a player.

It even rivals the first: a few days earlier, Manchester City lured Jack Grealish (Aston Villa) for 100million pounds (117million euros), according to British media estimates.

Ironic to say that the latter spent the week criticizing football business after the signing of Messi in Paris.
