Sweden made a historic effort and landed a fourth place at this summer's Tokyo Olympics.

- We well exceeded all expectations, but then we, when we went so far, wanted to come home with a medal, says star Jamina Roberts.

In the end, there was a brawl loss in the bronze match against Norway, but she takes with her the championship effort as a whole.

- It is clear we are doing a good performance, especially in the matches we win.

We are not lucky.

It feels good for the future.

"We can be proud"

The tactics have been adapted to the group, which became a key in the championship, according to Roberts.

The Säfehov player also raises the group dynamics.

- We have found what suits us.

- It feels like these Olympics were more than an improvement on three places last time.

Last Olympics we were a disaster, now we came four in a good way.

We can be proud of the achievement.

Are you upset that it did not win a medal or are you rather happy about the fourth place?

-

A little both.

Had we come home with a medal, we would have had a celebration in Stockholm.

I bought a towel with me as a souvenir, but a medal would have been more fun.

"Motivating for the future"

Roberts was one of Sweden's best players and after the tournament she was rewarded with a place in the all-star Olympic Games team.

- It is probably a receipt that it was something that worked, both for me and us as a team.

I would not have joined if we had not done well as a team.

It is great fun and motivating for the future.

Speaking of the future, what happens next?

- I will start training with Säfehov and there will be a season with a lot of matches.

Then the national team stuff starts with qualifiers in October and the World Cup in November / December.

Since the end of the season in May, she has not really had a holiday.

Roberts feels that it was needed, but at the same time she is motivated.

- We'll see how long I last and last.

Right now I feel like 23, I probably have a few years left in me.
