The Swedish women's national team won silver at the Tokyo Olympics, but had to play in front of empty stands.

Next summer, a new football party awaits in the form of the European Championship 2022 in England - then with an audience in place.

And a record number are interested.

Uefa reports that more than 53,000 tickets for the final at Wembley have already been sold today.

In total, just over 140,000 tickets have been sold and the sales figure is expected to increase to over 700,000.

- It's of course a lot of fun, at the same time I'm not surprised.

This is the development that is taking place in women's football right now and has been going on for some time.

It's just record stuff we have to expect, I think.

It is fun to experience this from the inside, says Zecira Musovic to SVT Sport.

"Shows how important European women's football has become"

Uefa welcomed the response from supporters.

- The interest comes from fans all over the world, which shows how important European women's football has become.

These figures are unparalleled in women's sports in Europe, says Nadine Kessler, head of women's football at Uefa, in a press release.

The organization believes that the upcoming European Championships will be the largest women's sporting event ever.

"A product that attracts"

- The interest around the world is great, you can not close your eyes to it.

It is a product that attracts and a football that interests people, says Musovic.

The goalkeeper star believes that the commitment is due to the fact that women's football is more easily accessible.

- I think it has a lot to do with it being available in a completely different way than before.

All of a sudden we can watch the big leagues on TV.

It must

exist

to exist.

What do you think about the number of Swedes in place?

- I wish we could build this yellow wall next year.

I hope we can build on the interest from the TV couches to people standing there in England in 2022.

The European Championship groups will be drawn on 28 October.
