Argentine star Lionel Messi has signed a contract with French club Paris Saint-Germain, to start a new journey in the world of the round witch, after a career that lasted more than two decades with Barcelona.

Messi passed medical examinations at the American Hospital in Paris, hours after his arrival in the French capital.

Messi will be officially presented during a press conference at midday tomorrow, Wednesday (Mecca time) at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

The Argentine star signed a two-year contract, and will carry the number 30 with the team.

Messi will meet for the first time with the club's fans on the occasion of the team's next league meeting against Strasbourg, which will also witness the presentation of the players who signed with the team this summer, namely: Achraf Hakimi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Pace Germain will have a star-rich squad and a fiery attack consisting of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, which will enhance the team's chances of competing for the Champions League title next season.

Saint-Germain pre-empted the official announcement by broadcasting a number of teasers that reflect the value of the huge deal that occupied the world in the past days.

One of the clips reviewed the landmarks of Paris, a plane landing and a close-up of a person signing some papers. In the background, cheerful music and words can be heard saying "a new gem in Paris."

Messi decided his career with Barcelona because of the club's financial troubles, ending a journey that crowned the club's historical top scorer with 682 goals, knowing that the Argentine star was crowned with the team with 4 Champions League titles with Barcelona and 10 titles in the Spanish League.
