In 2019, Loui Sand ended his successful handball career, only 26 years old, in order to undergo a gender correction.

This spring he started training with Kärra IF's men's team and now the match debut has also been made.

The changeover is a major challenge.

- Everything is so much harder - the pace, the hardness, everything.

This is the biggest challenge I have done in terms of sports.

I train and really try to do my best to prove to myself and others that it should work, he says.

The goal is the Allsvenskan

Kärra IF has submitted an application to the Swedish Handball Association that Sand should be able to represent the team in the Allsvenskan, the next highest series.

That is the goal.

But there is still no decision in the case.

- I know it's on the table and they're working and I really hope they'll be done soon.

The series and the Swedish Cup will start soon and I would like to know if I can join, says Sand.
