According to the company to which he belongs, before the opening, he told Minobe that the gold medal reward was 10 million yen, but since he won the first gold medal in Japan in fencing, he wanted to excite the sports world. It means that the gift was given after increasing the amount by 10 times.

At the debriefing session, Minobe said, "I don't think I was able to win the gold medal by myself. I am grateful to the company that prepared the current environment. I am aiming for the Paris tournament." It means that he showed his motivation for the next tournament.

A spokeswoman for the company said, "I don't think fencing is a major sport yet, so I hope this bounty will help the athletes."
