Former Sävehof player Julia Eriksson signed for Silkeborg-Voel this spring and planned for a comeback in the Danish league.

The club was ready with treatment and resources to get the long-term back injury in order.

But that did not happen.

After a tough pre-season, she is now forced to leave both club and elite handball.

Does not close the door completely

Eriksson won three Swedish Championship golds in total and despite the fact that her playing career is over, Eriksson believes that she will not close any doors to work in handball in the future.

"Later, with a little distance to this, I would more than like to return to handball if I feel myself right, but then not as a player," she writes on Instagram.
