Yuji Nishida, the Japanese national team for the Tokyo Olympics volleyball men, will challenge the world's best Italian first division league next season and said, "I want to be stronger and better."

Nishida is 21 years old from Mie prefecture.



With a height of 1 meter and 86 centimeters, it is a South Po with a strong spike that makes use of its high jumping power and a serve.



At the Tokyo Olympics, he scored 105 points in second place in the team, contributing to Japan's first quarter-final advance in 29 years.



Nishida announced on the 9th that he will play at the gymnasium of his affiliation JTEKT in Kariya city, Aichi prefecture, and will play in the world's highest Italian first division league, "Vivo Valentia" next season.



Nishida said, "I want to be stronger, I want to be better, and I want to strengthen the Japanese volleyball and make it a team that demands good results at the next Paris Olympics," said the reason for the challenge to Italy.



On top of that, he said about his goal, "I want to play something that will be memorable. I think I'll just pursue that dream."



Nishida will move to Italy next month to join the team.
