Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona due to "economic and structural problems" - and Financial Fair Play.

Several media, including French L'Équipe, state that the superstar is close to signing for the French big club PSG.

Something that Barcelona members want to prevent, reports Spanish Marca.

An appeal, issued by the members, which Marca has read, must have been submitted to the European Court of Justice.

The appeal states that Financial Fair Play should prevent PSG from recruiting Messi as the club's finances are more vulnerable than Barcelona's.

Lawyer Juan Branco, who represents the members of the case, says the following according to the newspaper:

- PSG's quota in relation to Financial Fair Play is worse than Barcelona's, says the lawyer and members' representative Juan Branco, according to the newspaper.

- In 2019/2020, 99 percent of PSG's income was used for salaries, while it was 54 percent in Barcelona.
