23-year-old Spanish novice Jorge Martin (Ducati-Pramac) won his first MotoGP race from pole on Sunday at the Grand Prix in Styria, Austria, the tenth round of the season.

He shares the podium with the Spaniard Joan Mir (Suzuki) and the French Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), who increases his lead at the top of the drivers' standings from 34 to 40 points after a race interrupted by an impressive accident: Jorge Pedrosa crashed at turn 3, several competitors narrowly avoided him, but Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) crashed into his motorcycle.

Zarco sixth

The Italian slid off and his mount caught fire, also setting the KTM on fire.

Out on a stretcher but conscious, Savadori limped back to his truck in the paddock.

Unlike Pedrosa, he did not take the second start around 40 minutes later.
