The match remained one-on-one, and even in overtime, it was not settled, and after a penalty kick match, Canada beat Sweden 3-2 to win the first gold medal.

The Tokyo Olympics and soccer women's finals were originally scheduled to be held at the National Stadium from 11:00 am on the 6th, but the schedule changed due to measures against the heat and the finals were held at the Yokohama International Stadium from 9:00 pm.



In the final, Sweden, which beat Japan in the quarter-finals, and Canada, which was ranked 8th in the world and drew with Japan in the qualifying league, played against each other.



Sweden opened the scoring with Stina Blackstenius in the 34th minute of the first half, while Canada caught up with a one-on-one tie in the 22nd minute with Jessie Fleming scoring a penalty kick.



After that, even in overtime, both teams couldn't score and entered a penalty kick.



And in the penalty kick match, Canada won the first gold medal by winning 3-2 with a good save by goalkeeper Stephanie Rabbi.



Sweden was the silver medal following the Rio de Janeiro tournament, and the bronze medal was the United States, which beat Australia 4-3 in the bronze medal match on the 5th.
