He was suspended from playing for two years.. Al-Musafa crowns Jordan with an Olympic medal

Jordan's Abdul Rahman Al-Masafa was satisfied with the bronze, giving his country its second medal in the Olympic Games in Tokyo, after losing today, Thursday, the semi-finals of the -67 kg weight class in karate competitions.

Al-Musatafa qualified for the semi-finals, leading his group with a full score, achieving eight points from four matches, after the withdrawal of the Italian Angelo Crechenzo.

Al-Musatafa, who was born in 1996, is a medical student and began playing the game in 2002, and obtained a black belt in 2005 at Al-Saqr Club.

Al-Masatafa joined the Jordanian karate team for the first time in 2011.

The player was close to securing at least one silver medal for Jordan, but lost in the semi-finals 2-0 to Turkish Eray Samdan.

Al-Musafa was suspended from playing and external participation in 2016 and 2017 due to personal differences with the Jordanian Karate Federation.

Jordan participated in this Olympic game for the first time in the 2018 Youth Olympics in Argentina through Abdullah Hammad, who was about to win a medal.

Jordan had previously won silver in taekwondo through its athlete, Saleh Al-Sharbati, and thus raised its total Olympic medals to three, after Ahmed Abu Ghosh won its first in Taekwondo also in 2016 in Rio, weighing -68 kg.
