In less than an hour, the Swedish canoe team has secured two final places in the Olympics.

First Petter Menning (K1 200 meters) and then Linnea Stensils.

In the semifinals of the K1 500 meters, the 27-year-old dominated and won in the time of 1.51,902, a full second ahead of the reigning Olympic silver medalist and Dane Emma Åstrand Jörgensen.

Stencil's time, a bit stagnant, was third best in the four semifinals.

The final where the Swede chases a medal will be decided at 05.29, Swedish time.

Earlier in the Olympics in Tokyo, Stensils finished fifth in the K1 200 meters.
