The Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) has announced that it will pay 100 million won in incentives in addition to the previously planned bounty to the women's volleyball team that succeeded in advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

KOVO was going to pay 500 million won for gold medals, 300 million won for silver medals, 200 million won for bronze medals, and 100 million won for 4th place as Olympic bounties.

However, KOVO and the club decided to give additional rewards to encourage the national team that advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time in nine years since the 2012 London Olympics.

The national team, which advanced to the semifinals with a 3-2 victory over Turkey on the 4th, received at least 200 million won with an additional 100 million won in encouragement.

The national team challenging for a medal for the first time in 45 years since the bronze medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics will play the semi-final against Brazil tomorrow (6th) at 9:00 pm.
