Syrian weightlifter Maan Assaad gave his country its first medal since 2004 in the Olympic Games, while Egyptian Mohamed El-Sayed Ibrahim won a bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling, today, Wednesday, at the Tokyo Olympics.


Qatari beach soccer duo Sherif Younes and Ahmed Tejan continued his impressive rise, defeating Italians Paolo Nicolai and Daniele Lobo 21-17, 23-21 to reach the semi-finals.

Egyptian Mohamed El-Sayed Ibrahim "Kisho" won the bronze in Greco-Roman wrestling, by defeating the Russian under neutral flag Artem Surkov, with the advantage of points 3-1 (1-1).


Kisho, 23, started his campaign on Tuesday in the eighth-finals of the 67-kg weight category, defeating South Korean Hansoo Ryu 7-6, and then overtaking Karen Aslanian in the quarter-finals with points (7-7).
