The former Bayern coach Niko Kovac has described racist remarks against Aurelien Tchouameni as "disgusting".

In the 2-0 (1-0) of Kovac's current AS Monaco team in qualifying for the Champions League at Sparta Prague, the French U-21 international Tchouameni was vilified with monkey noises.

"We are all very sad that something like this still exists in the 21st century," said Kovac.

After his goal to make it 1-0, Tchouameni (37th) was insulted by the fans in the stands. The team immediately informed Kovac and referee Michael Oliver, who then ordered an interruption. It was announced in the stadium that the game would be abandoned if such statements were to be repeated. In addition to Tchouameni, the German European Championship participant Kevin Volland (59th) was also successful.

Mario Götze is meanwhile heading for the playoffs with PSV Eindhoven. The traditional Dutch club finished off FC Midtjylland from Denmark 3-0 (3-0) - the game was decided in just under fifteen minutes. England's young star Noni Madueke (19th) brought PSV, trained by the former Leverkusen-based Roger Schmidt, into the lead, former Bundesliga professional Götze increased (29th), and the Dutch U-21 international Cody Gakpo finally made everything clear (32nd).

Götze was instrumental in all three hits.

In the second half, however, Eindhoven missed a number of good opportunities to make it 4-0.

Above all, Madueke stood out negatively (49th, 54th and 82nd).

But the other two goalscorers - Gakpo and Götze - could have contributed another goal to PSV's success, as did Israeli striker Eran Zahavi.

The Dutch can still imagine themselves with one leg in the next round.

The second leg will take place on August 10th.

The winners reach the playoffs, which are about entering the group stage of the Champions League.

Eindhoven would face either Spartak Moscow or Benfica Lisbon in the playoffs, Monaco against Genk or Shakhtar Donetsk.
