The World Karate Federation has announced that one player from the Russian Olympic Committee, who was scheduled to participate in the 55-kilometer class of women's kumite in the Tokyo Olympics, was infected with the new coronavirus and withdrew from the match.

According to the federation, Anna Chernysheva of the Russian Olympic Committee, who was scheduled to participate in the 55-kilometer class of women's karate, was found to be infected with the new coronavirus and abstained from the match on the 5th.



For this reason, the number of women participating in the 55 kg class of women's kumite will be reduced by one, and a total of nine players will be held.
