The Dubai Sports Council and the Dubai Economy signed an agreement to enhance areas of cooperation between them to develop the sports sector in Danat Al Dunya, in line with the prestigious international position of Dubai as a city that supports sports and encourages investment in it.

The terms of the agreement were signed by the Director General of Dubai Economy, Sami Al Qamzi, and the Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, Saeed Hareb, and in the presence of the Deputy Director General of the Dubai Economy, Ali Ibrahim, and the Assistant Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, and the Executive Director of the Industry Development Corporation. and exports, Saed Al-Awadi, and the Executive Director of the Governance and Legislation Sector, Khaled Al-Bashiri.

The memorandum of understanding, which was announced at a press conference yesterday, included expanding cooperation between the two parties in many areas that develop the sports sector, increasing its contribution to Dubai's GDP, and expanding the areas of benefit for community members who practice sports and investors in this field, as well as organizers of sports events. different.

The memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the council’s role to develop the sports sector in Dubai in accordance with Executive Council Resolution No. 1 of 2020 regarding the organization of sports institutions and events in the Emirate of Dubai, as well as to activate the sports aspect of the “Invest in Dubai” platform, which is the unified digital platform for doing business in the city. Which was launched by the Government of Dubai with the aim of developing the investment aspect in all fields, and providing facilities that support the work of investors and contribute to achieving their goals.

The memorandum of understanding also includes unifying efforts in the field of supervision and inspection of the work of training and fitness centers, academies and sports events, which number more than 400 events, more than 400 fitness centers and 400 academies, and other institutions working in the field of sports, in addition to granting immediate licenses to exercise Business in the field of sports, organizing training camps and sporting events, and facilitating obtaining approvals from government agencies related to each sporting event or camp.

The memorandum of understanding allows the two parties to exchange information, data and statistics related to the sports sector in Dubai, and to measure growth indicators and use them to set development plans and programs in this field.

Sami Al Qamzi expressed his happiness to cooperate with the Dubai Sports Council in the field of organizing and developing the work of institutions working in the sports field and promoting investment in sports.
