And in the ladies the same thing happened.

There, the riot became even more dramatic, and it was after the last hurdle that the American Sydney McLauglin got past compatriot Dalilah Muhammad.

McLaughlin crossed the finish line in the new world record time of 51.46, twelve hundredths ahead of Muhammad.

Both ran faster than the 21-year-old's previous record time of 51.90.
