The American had suffered from loss of benchmarks at the start of the competition, forcing her to forfeit during the first tests.

The American gymnastics star won the bronze medal on balance beam at the Tokyo Olympics on Tuesday, with a score of 14,000.

For her return after several packages due to loss of benchmarks, the 24-year-old gymnast, quadruple gold medalist in Rio in 2016, reassured herself and saved her Olympic adventure in Japan.

She was beaten by Guan with 14.633 points and another Chinese gymnast Tang Xijing (14.233 pts).
