It was confirmed that Ryu Han-soo, a Korean men's wrestler, who was considered a medal candidate, was eliminated from the round of 16 at the Tokyo Olympics.

As a result, Korean wrestling ended the tournament with a 'No Medal' for the first time in 45 years since the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

Ryu Hansoo lost 7-6 to Mohammad El Sayed (Egypt) in the men's 67kg wrestling Greco-Roman class at the Tokyo Olympics held at Makuhari Messe Hall A in Chiba, Japan.

The possibility of a loser's revival remained, but that disappeared as El Sayed lost in the quarterfinals in the afternoon.

It is the first time that Korean wrestling has not won a medal at the Olympics since 1976 when Yang Jeong-mo won a gold medal and Jeong Hae-seop won a bronze medal at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

The wrestling team was on the way to departure to participate in an international competition in March, but was infected with Corona 19 overseas.

In the worst case scenario, Korean wrestling only managed to win just two tickets to the Tokyo Olympics.

Kim Min-seok (28, Ulsan Nam-gu Office), a Greco-Roman male 130kg, who obtained the Olympic qualification with Ryu Han-soo, was also eliminated in the round of 16 on the 1st.
