Salem Ben Howiden: “Our first ambition is to restore the football team to its true position after last season, which we prepare to forget.”

The Chairman of Al Dhaid Club, Salem bin Howaiden, revealed that his club's goal in the next season of the Premier League is to compete for promotion to the Arab Gulf Football League, and to provide the national teams with talent.

He told "Emirates Today": "We have made the best possible preparations to achieve the desired goals, and we thank the Sharjah Sports Council for the unlimited support in the qualitative shift of the club in all sports, including football."

He explained: “Our first ambition is to restore the football team to its true position after last season, which we are preparing to forget, and to restore the club to the happiness and satisfaction of its fans and followers, after occupying a position unworthy of the ambitions and position of the club, represented by the last position, while the most prominent ambition is the competition for promotion to play in the season. The next season for the Arab Gulf League, or achieving an advanced position in the next season, in preparation for achieving the dream of ascension in the next season.” He added: “Accordingly, we have developed many technical visions that help achieve ambitions, one of which is to supply national teams in the coming years with talented players, as Five talented young players have been promoted to the first team.”

He continued, "The reasons that caused the team's performance decline last season were addressed, by properly preparing the new stadium, to help hold training comfortably, which was absent from last season, and one of the best citizen coaches in the country, the coach, was contracted. Walid Obaid, and we are proud of that, and an external training camp was secured in Serbia for optimal preparation, and we expressed in the Board of Directors, thanks to the support of the Sharjah Sports Council, that we provide all means of success.”

He concluded: "The team's support was not limited to the preparation of the camp, the stadium and the coach, but a selection of players who have distinguished experience, and who have previously won championships with other clubs, were appointed."
