Sifan Hassan does not think that her crash on Monday in the 1,500-meter series will affect her later in the day in the 5,000-meter final.

The favorite crashed on the last lap and had to put in a lot of effort in the last 400 meters to avoid being eliminated.

"I was shocked for a while, but I immediately thought: I can't stop," said 28-year-old Hassan.

"I also feel good and I don't think it affects the preparation for the final of the 5000 meters."

Hassan tripped over Kenya's Edinah Jebitok going into the final lap.

She quickly got up, gave chase and had to bridge a gap of 40 meters to the front runners.

After an impressive acceleration she still crossed the finish line first.

The last 300 meters, which she covered in a lightning-fast 43.8 seconds, took a lot of strength.

The final of the 5000 meters is Monday at 2.40 pm Dutch time.

Sifan Hassan went in in less than 400 meters from lying on the ground to win her series.
