Sebastian Vettel was disqualified from the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday.

The stewards found that the German had too little fuel in his tank after the race.

This puts Lewis Hamilton ahead of Max Verstappen in the Formula 1 championship.

The 34-year-old Vettel lost his second place and eighteen points for the championship as a result.

The Aston Martin driver had to put up with only Esteban Ocon in the spectacular race at the Hungaroring.

According to the rules, a car must still contain at least 1 liter of petrol after the finish.

Vettel's Aston Martin was measured to have only 0.3 liters on board.

A minimum of 1 liter is needed to determine whether the fuel used complies with the rules.

The penalty for Vettel moves Hamilton to second place and Carlos Sainz to third.

Verstappen finishes ninth.

This also gives Hamilton a bigger lead over Verstappen in the championship.

The Brit is now in the lead with 195 points and the Dutchman occupies second place with 187 points.
