Last individual swimming at the Olympics.

Then Sarah Sjöström made 50 meters free in 24.07 seconds and picked up silver, despite the fact that she still feels the elbow injury she sustained in February.

SVT Sports expert Lars Frölander praises the Swedish swimming queen.

- It was a fantastic race Sarah did and it feels like she got everything she had in the final.

She has also felt a lot of pressure on herself, even though she had that injury.

That she can come home with a medal is absolutely incredible.

Keeps the stakes high

Frölander holds Sjöström's podium high.

- This is without a doubt her finest silver ever.

We all hoped that she would be able to take a medal, but we also knew that the conditions were not the best.

That she takes the silver is incomparable, he says and continues:

- This is the Olympics, the biggest arena you compete in and to come home with a medal means a lot for the future.

Knowing despite the injury that she can fight for the most precious medals, I think she will be able to live for a long time.

Positive with 50 free at the end

Expectations of Sjöström were raised after the first championship race, where she impressed, he says.

The race then went in the other direction.

- I think it was maybe a little nice that expectations then went down a bit.

The longer the championship lasted, she got into swimming more and more.

It was also an advantage that 50 freestyle, her favorite discipline, went at the end.

- It is of course very positive to have this in your backpack when you need to recharge your batteries and look towards new goals.
