14 years in the Swedish women's hockey league.

396 matches in the regular season and 44 matches in the Swedish Championship play-offs.

But now Sofia Engström chooses to put the skates on the shelf.

The 33-year-old ends her career in Modo, where she represented the club for two seasons and 70 matches.

- It has been very emotional, it needs to but not stick under a chair with.

I feel at peace with the fact that I have chosen to quit, but somehow it also feels difficult at the same time, says Engström.

"Coaching role suits me well"

But when one door closes, another opens.

Today she begins her new assignment as assistant coach for the club's women juniors.

- Becoming a leader is something I have thought about before, but since then it has not been relevant until now.

It feels fun to help and develop the young girls in Modo and I feel that a coaching role suits me well, she says to the club.
