The German hockey men have reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The team of national coach Kais al Saadi prevailed 3-1 (1-0) against Olympic champion Argentina at the start of the knockout round on Sunday morning (local time) at more than 30 degrees in the Oi Hockey Stadium.

The German goals were scored by Lukas Windfeder (19th minute / 48th minute) and Timm Herzbruch (40th) each by penalty corner.

Even the hit by Maico Casella Schuth (52nd) could not prevent the deserved victory.

The selection of the German Hockey Association successfully took revenge for the defeat in the semi-finals in Rio five years ago. In the round of the best four on Tuesday it will be against the winner of the game between the previously undefeated Australians and European champions Netherlands.
