The Tokyo Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games has revealed that officials staying in the Olympic Village in Tokyo have stripped the ID card required to participate in the Games, alleging that they have gone out without permission for sightseeing purposes.


This is the first time that a person involved in the tournament has been stripped of their ID card.

The "Playbook," which summarizes infection control measures for the new coronavirus for stakeholders, including athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics, sets restrictions on the range of activities.



At a press conference on the 31st, the Organizing Committee revealed that the people involved in the Olympic Village had gone out without permission and had stripped the ID card required to participate in the tournament, alleging that they were visiting tourist spots.



This is the first time that the ID card has been stripped.



However, the Organizing Committee did not provide details of the deprived parties, saying they would not respond to individual cases.



Regarding the playbook violation case, it was revealed on the 27th of this month that European media officials were drinking, eating and drinking in groups at the hotel where they were staying.



According to the Organizing Committee, "We must not go out from the Olympic Village for sightseeing purposes, so we decided to deprive them through appropriate procedures."
