The 30-year-old won the 55-kilo class and set a new Olympic record by lifting a total of 224 kilos.
The medal was the Philippines' eleventh since 1924 and the government of the country now chooses to reward her abundantly.

Diaz receives SEK 5.7 million and a house after the feat.
"The whole country is proud of you," President Rodrigo Duterte's spokesman Harry Roque said in a statement.
