Corona restrictions allow only one personal assistant to help the 33 U.S. Paralympic Games that the U.S. Paralympic Committee selected for Tokyo 2020. Rebecca Meyers - who won three gold, two silver and one bronze medal at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro 2016 - wanted to bring ones mother.

But she does not get that.

The 26-year-old, who was born with Usher's syndrome and has been deaf since birth and later lost his sight, therefore chooses to withdraw.

- I have not been able to sleep, I have been so stressed.

I have not been able to be my best self.

"I know I can be the one with the resources I need," Rebecca Meyers told the Washington Post.

Rebecca's mother and personal assistant Maria tells the newspaper that she thinks it is unacceptable.

And riding alone is not an option for Rebecca, because the Paralympian is terrified of doing so and has shaken up like a ball over the tank.

Sympathetic

Mother Maria and Rebecca believe that the US Paralympic Committee has had the opportunity to solve the problem since February.

- I fully sympathize with your concerns and wish we could find a solution, says the committee's sports director Rick Adams.

The Paralympics will be decided between August 24 and September 5, and will be broadcast on SVT.
