Shohei Ono, who won the gold medal at the previous Rio de Janeiro Games in the 73-kilometer class of the Tokyo Olympics Judo Men, advanced to the semi-finals.

Ohno, who is aiming for the second straight victory, won both the second round of the first round and the third round that followed, and advanced to the quarterfinals.

In the quarter-finals, we played against Rustam Orujov of Azerbaijan, the same opponent as the final of the previous tournament.

Two minutes after the start, Ohno took the waza-ari with his inner thigh, and three minutes after the start, he took the waza-ari again and won with one combined technique to advance to the semi-final.

Ohno has won the three games from the first match without risk, and is showing a stable fight toward the seventh consecutive Olympic title in Japanese judo.
