The USA made five changes in the starting eleven for the match against New Zealand compared to the 0-3 premiere against Sweden.

In came striker Megan Rapinoe and midfielder Julie Ertz and there were also two changes in the defense, which the Swedish players ran through time and time again on Wednesday.

The United States also showed a completely different side to New Zealand - before the eyes of First Lady Jill Biden in the stands - and dominated from the start.

Rose Lavelle gave the Americans the lead after only nine minutes.

Then the United States bombarded the New Zealand defense and had four balls in goal - all sent off for offside - only in the first half.

Just before the break, however, the United States got an approved goal when Lindsey Horan extended the lead to 2-0.

Horan played his 100th international for the United States in the match against New Zealand.

At the end of the match, the New Zealanders collapsed completely and the USA was able to score three goals in the last quarter.

In the final round on Tuesday, the USA will meet Australia on what will probably be a match for second place in Sweden's group.

At the same time, Sweden, which is already ready for the quarter-finals, will face New Zealand.
