Swim and in total autonomy the 122 km of Lake Titicaca in Peru: this is the completely crazy challenge set by a trio of adventurers. And before starting this long journey, they chose Lake Matemale (Pyrénées-Orientales) and its 1,600 meters above sea level to train one last time. At the microphone of France Bleu Roussillon, the Olympic swimming vice-champion Malia Metella explains this choice: "Even if it is not as high, the lake of Matemale allows you to find altitude". And they will have to get used to it if they want to overcome the cradle of the Incas located at more than 3800 meters above sea level!

The Matemale is therefore a sort of dress rehearsal for these three experienced swimmers.

Thus, Malia Metella, Théo Curin (amputee of four limbs and who therefore swims with prostheses) and Matthieu Witvoet swim for several hours each day, each in turn pulling their 400 kg raft, made up of solar panels.

It will be used for them to rest, eat, discuss ... Each has a different role in the crew and contributes to the smooth running of this fabulous journey which will bring them, we hope, to the end of the Titicaca.
