The original phrase belongs to the priest André Didon, it was taken as a principle by the founder of the Olympic movement Pierre de Coubertin.
Since 1894, after the approval of the first Congress of the OI, this phrase has been the constant motto of the Olympiads.
The Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo from July 23 to August 8.
