Luleå announces that it is now clear that two forwards will leave the club.

Emma Nordin, who has been in the club since 2015, has chosen to try out an adventure abroad.

But this does not come as a surprise to the club.

- She was clear that she wanted to apply abroad for a new challenge.

So we could not count on her for next season, even though we still chose to leave an opening if the conditions were to change and she would like to play in the SDHL, says sports director, Mikael Forsberg.

"A tougher seat"

Heavier for the club was the call from the scoring machine Michela Cava who has now chosen to leave.

- For Michela Cava, her contract was written as 1 + 1.

But when she did not choose to use her out before our deadline, we had counted on her as one of our players next season as well, says Forsberg and continues:

- But then in the beginning of July she heard about it and she also wanted to take on a new challenge abroad.

And since we know the conditions in women's hockey, we chose not to stop her from this, even though this of course put us in a tougher seat before the season.

East points in SDHL

Cava accounted for an impressive 66 points (29 + 37) in 36 regular season matches for Luleå during the 2020/21 season.

Before that, Cava played one season in Brynäs and before that also two seasons in Modo.

In total, the forward in 144 SHL matches has accounted for 230 points (104 + 126).

Now Luleå has to look for a replacement for the 27-year-old Canadian.
