Liverpool announces the departure of the first player signed by Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool Football Club announced today the transfer of Serbian player Marko Grujic to Porto on a permanent transfer deal.

And the British news agency (PA Media) reported that Grujic, 25, was the first player contracted by German coach Juergen Klopp in 2016, but he participated in only 16 games in all competitions during five years at the “Anfield” stadium.

And Liverpool explained on their official website: “The Serbian international will return to the Portuguese club, after he went on loan with him, during which he participated in 39 games and scored two goals in the 2020/2021 season.”

He added, "Goric was in the Liverpool camp in Austria, led by Jurgen Klopp, in preparation for the new season, and he will now bid farewell to the team to permanently join Porto."

Joric, who spent two seasons on loan with Hertha Berlin, agreed to join Liverpool in January 2016 from the Serbian Red Star team, before officially joining the team later in the same year.

His eight participations with the team in the English Premier League came with Liverpool as a reserve, and he also appeared in eight other matches, and he spent the second half of the 2017/2018 season on loan to Cardiff City.
