Kosuke Hagino is 26 years old from Tochigi prefecture.

He participated in the 2012 London Olympics for the first time in his third year of high school, and won the first bronze medal for a Japanese player in this event in the men's 400-meter individual medley.


After entering university, he studied under Norimasa Hirai, the head coach of Japan, who raised Kosuke Kitajima, and at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where he faced as a Japanese ace, he won a gold medal in a 400-meter individual medley. We have won three medals: gold, silver and bronze.


However, after that, the slump continued due to the surgery on the right elbow of the old injury, and he left the competition for about 3 months from March and took a rest.


After returning to the race, he continued to challenge the 400-meter individual medley, which is considered to be the toughest in terms of physical strength, but he could not keep stable results, and at the Japan Championship in April, which was the representative selection, 400 I missed the metric individual medley.


In the tournament, after entering the 3rd place in the men's 200m freestyle and deciding to be a representative in the relay event, in the 200m individual medley, although it was less than 0.02 seconds to the rival Daiya Seto of the same year, he entered the 2nd place I also became a representative in an individual event.


Hagino, who says, "I'm at the end of my career," positions the Olympics, which will be his third consecutive appearance, as one of the culminations of his competitive life.
