Last year's edition was canceled due to covid-19.

When this year's GP in Falsterbo took part in the competition week, it was double Swedish on the podium.

Today's first flawless round was led by Karin Martinsen, together with nine-year-old mare Tailormade Condara.

Annika Axelsson also rode flawlessly, but went on a sloppy time error - 27 hundredths over the time limit of 82 seconds.

Despite that, she moved on to the jump.

Of the 46 starters, of which 21 were Swedish, 6 blue-yellow crews made it to the winning round.

Including: Peder Fredricson with gelding Christian K.

"Great to come back"

But there was no new victory for the reigning champion.

Fredricson, who won the competition in 2019, rode the fastest time, 43.84, but the gold favorite tore the last obstacle by the smallest possible margin.

However, it was Swedish at the top of the podium.

Alexander Zetterman with Triton Hästak solved a double zero and won in a time of 45.73 - just over two seconds faster than runner-up Rolf-Göran Bengtsson.

The victory was 31-year-old Zetterman's second victory in the Falsterbo GP.

- It feels incredible.

I have a hard time putting it into words… it's great to come back and do it again.

You do not want to be such a "one hit wonder", says Zetterman to SVT.

Third was Danish Sören Pedersen.

Peder Fredricson had to settle for a fifth place, behind Wilma Hellström.

- He (Christian K) was fast and we got to the jump well. Everything went well, but he did not get enough height at last. It was a bit annoying, says Fredricson.
