With a clear 42:22 win against the Barcelona Dragons, Frankfurt Galaxy won the fourth game in a row on Saturday evening and thus maintained the championship lead in the southern season of the newly founded European League of Football (ELF).

In the second home game in the premier season of the European league, Frankfurt's quarterback Jakeb Sullivan, who always put his teammates in the limelight, impressed.

However, the 27-year-old American also underwent three so-called interceptions, i.e. throws that were intercepted by opposing players.

In general, a number of minor mistakes and unnecessary fouls dragged through the game of both teams, which had only initially delivered an even duel in front of about 3000 spectators in the stadium on Bornheimer Hang.

Frankfurt quickly countered the early lead through Barcelona with two own touchdowns by Anthony Mahoungou and Nico Strahmann, and running back Justin Rodney increased to 21: 9 before half-time.

Dragons kicker Giorgio Tavecchio scored the 21:12 break with a remarkable field goal from 52 yards (47.5 meters).

After the change, the game flattened out a little before the Frankfurt offensive in particular really got rolling again.

Again Mahoungou and Strahmann scored, playmaker Sullivan ran a touchdown himself.

In the end there was a deserved victory against the so far unsuccessful team from Spain, which the Frankfurt players then cheered on the field.

Only coach Thomas Kösling did not seem completely satisfied, later he mainly criticized the many "useless" fouls of his team, such as several forbidden grabs in the face grille of opposing players.

In the next week, Frankfurt Galaxy has no game before it goes back to their own stadium against Stuttgart Surge.
