At 34, Frenchman Olivier Giroud left Chelsea to take on number 9 for AC Milan.

He will meet there in particular Zlatan Ibrahimovic, another renowned veteran.

AC Milan formalized on Saturday the arrival of French striker Olivier Giroud, from Chelsea, for an unspecified duration and amount.

The 2018 world champion, 34, will wear number 9, said the Rossonero club in a press release.

To all the Blues, to my teammates, to all my coaches, to the whole club, a huge thank you for these special moments

I'm starting a new journey with a light and happy heart.

Our victories in Fa Cup, Europa League and Champions league have been magnificent.

Love Oli G.

"I am starting a new journey"

Revealed late, the athletic center-forward (1.92 m, 88 kg) has woven the thread of an atypical career by elbowing his elbows, his head held high despite the hollows, sending back the image of a "needy" striker and respectful, faithful to his dreams and his beliefs in club and team of France.

He will now rub shoulders in attack with another renowned veteran, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (39) alongside whom he will have to impose his mind of steel, driven by an always fierce appetite, forged by a winding but happy course. "I start a new journey with a light heart and happy," he tweeted Friday, in English, announcing to the supporters his departure from Chelsea where he did not fit into the plans of Thomas Tuchel.
