Frenchman Olivier Giroud joins the Serie A club from Chelsea, Milan confirms on its website.

Giroud has played for Chelsea since 2018, before representing London rivals Arsenal.

"I am starting a new journey with a light and happy heart," he wrote on Twitter.

He has scored the second most goals in the French national team jersey through the ages with his 46 hits in 110 matches.

Only Thierry Henry has done more.

The striker was, among other things, with and won the World Cup with France 2018. But in this summer's European Championship, he played only two of France's four matches where it was also sparse with playing time.
