In 2016, a 23-year-old Daniel Ståhl participated in the Olympics in Rio, Brazil.

Just like now, he came with a cannon form and had just set a personal best of 66.92.

But despite the form, Ståhl missed the final.

Now, however, a lot has happened, says Ståhl.

- It was a rather inexperienced guy who had not competed so much.

There is a big difference now, now I have competed all over the world and met many people.

Brazil versus Japan, they are two different worlds, you could say, says Daniel Ståhl at Friday's press conference.

"26 percent chance then"

But despite coming to the championship as reigning world champion and an annual best of 71.40, which he threw in Bottnaryd last Saturday, he is restrained with expectations.

The goal?

Reaching the discus final.

- It's a bit special, it's not the same as the European Championships and the World Cup.

Now you get to see 2,000 active in other sports.

Being in an Olympic village together is special, it is only every four years as well, he says and continues:

- We have made statistics on every throwing round I have done, my coach Vesteinn (Hafsteinsson) and I.

Before the Olympics in Rio, I had a 26 percent chance of making it to the finals.

Now I'm up to 75 percent.

The difference is that I have better experience now, so we'll see.

There are three chances you have in the qualifiers, step one is to reach the final.

Athletics in the Olympics begins on July 30.
