It's a yes.

Novak Djokovic, after a few days of reflection, gave his agreement on Thursday evening to wear the colors of Serbia at the Tokyo Olympics, and try to win the only major title missing from his record.

A detail for the one who is also on his way to a calendar grand slam, after his victories this year in Australia, then at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

Cannot disappoint my little friend Koujirou.

I booked my flight for Tokyo and will proudly be joining #TeamSerbia for the Olympics.

Suffice to say that if he succeeds, it is a mutant journey that he will have accomplished: the US Open following immediately after the Olympics.

He would not however be the first on the Moon of the exploit: the German Steffi Graf preceded him by accomplishing this improbable quintupled in 1988. The Djoker would carve out an unparalleled track record.

A performance that the other two best players in history, Nadal and Federer, have not achieved.

Young people facing Djoko

At the Games, Djokovic will face a table diminished by several major absences: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem or Nick Kyrgios have already thrown in the towel.

The other favorites will therefore be representatives of the new generation: Russian Daniil Medvedev, Italian Matteo Berettini, German Alexander Zverev and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Japanese authorities will apply drastic health restrictions at the Olympics, which begin on July 23.

Almost all competitions will be behind closed doors and athletes, subject to strict quarantine, are not allowed to come with their families.
