Alvar Myhlback, son of the Swedish poll manager Petter Myhlback, is only 15 years old.

Despite this, he himself says that he has made an elite investment in the last two or three years.

- Last year it's just training.

There is not much else you have time for.

I live to be as good as possible, says Myhlback to SVT Sport.

"The world's greatest skiing talent"

He belongs to the Norwegian Team Bygdö and there he is trained by Sondre Sundby, brother of the Norwegian star Martin Johnsrud Sundby.

But he handles most of the training program himself.

- Alvar was serious already when he was twelve years old.

He went to bed at nine in the evening because he had to rest, he thought about diet.

He was a perfectionist, an athlete already when he was twelve years old, says team manager Julius Solheim.

- He is currently the world's greatest ski talent, without a doubt.

His mentality is on a completely different level than anyone else.

Many senior skiers in Sweden and Norway do not have that mentality.

It's not something you can learn.

It is just over a year until he becomes a first-year junior and even if he wants to compete with the best, he has to wait with it.

- It's a little frustrating.

I get to measure myself sometimes in training and then I see how I feel.

I just have to keep it up until I get to go to those competitions and then everything will probably drop.

How good do you think you are right now?

- It's hard to say, but I want to believe that I am among the best in Sweden - all ages.

Myhlback has nevertheless received some proof that he maintains a high level.

He recently won a 10 kilometer long running competition in Dalarna and then he beat Calle Halfvarsson by 50 seconds.

He also got the chance to train with the Russian national team in the ski tunnel in Torsby and everyone except Alexander Bolshunov was there.

- It was really fun.

We ran an interval workout, we ran three times ten minutes threshold first and then a few pulls 'all out'.

I hung out all the way to the end and it was a receipt of how I am.

Even though it's summer, it was a bit of a proof, says Myhlback.

The riders in the Russian national team were really impressed.

- He is at such a high level that no one understands that he is 15 years old.

None of the Russians he trained with in Torsby believed his eyes, says team manager Solheim.

Myhlback has developed a lot during the corona year and now another "transport year" awaits while waiting to compete against the world elite.

- My goal is to go to the World Cup next season and I still have a long way to go.

My main goal is to eventually become the best in the world and I still have a long way to go.

But I'm a good distance down the road.

Is there a fifteen year old in the world who can measure up to you now?

- I do not want to brag or so, but no.

I only try to train with those who are equal to me and they are not fifteen year olds if we say so.

According to team manager Solheim, there are not many in ski history who can measure up to Myhlback's talent.

- There are talents like this about every ten years.

You have Thomas Wassberg, you have Gunde Svan, Petter Northug and Johannes Hösflot Kläbo.
