Mary Com (India)

38-year-old Indian boxer Mary Com can be safely called a legend of her sport.

She won the lightweight world championships six times, which is a record for women, and she won eight medals in total - an achievement that even men did not submit.

Back in 2001, she first became a silver medalist, and a year later she won her first title.

In 2012, Kom became the bronze medalist of the Olympics at the first ever women's boxing tournament.

By that time, she had two twins growing up, and a year later she gave birth to her third son.

She successfully combined her maternal responsibilities not only with sports, but also with politics - for the past five years, Kom has also been a member of the Indian Parliament.

In 2018, after her sixth World Cup win, she adopted the little girl she had always dreamed of.

Charlie Davison (UK)

British Charlie Davison will also compete in the weight category up to 51 kg, supported by three children.

As a child, she was not accepted into the local boxing club due to the fact that she was a girl, and she had to learn the basics under the guidance of her father.

Davison was a promising athlete, but before the home Olympics in London, she suddenly decided to devote her life to her family.

She gave birth to two sons and a daughter.

However, when the children grew up, Davison decided to return to the ring.

At the same time, the seven-year career break passed without a trace for the girl.

She became the champion of the country without any problems, and then won a ticket to the Tokyo Olympics, taking second place in the European selection.

The athlete herself is confident that she will be able to bring a valuable gift from Japan and please her children.

Christine Ongare (Kenya)

It is possible that one of her rivals will be Kenyan Christine Ongare.

Her getting to the Olympics can be called a miracle.

She was the youngest child of four in a single mother living in a disadvantaged area.

At the age of 12, Ongare turned out to be pregnant and gave birth to a daughter.

To finish school, she had to leave the child in the care of her grandmother and go to the village.

Since childhood, Ongare has been involved in various sports, but she showed herself best in boxing.

In 2018, she became the first Kenyan female boxer to win bronze at the Commonwealth Games, and two years later qualified for the Tokyo Olympics.

Mandy Boujo (Canada)

Another mother will compete for a medal in the boxing category up to 51 kg. Canadian Mandy Boujo had to work hard to be among the participants. The two-time Pan American Games champion was supposed to confidently qualify for the Tokyo Olympics this spring, but due to the coronavirus, all qualifying competitions for American athletes have been canceled.

It was decided to distribute quotas according to the continental rating, but Boujo was not on the lists.

In November 2018, she gave birth to a daughter and took a break in her career.

Because of this, she did not have the opportunity to compete and, accordingly, lost her rating points.

Boujo returned to the ring to compete in qualifying tournaments, but due to their cancellation, she had to be left without the Olympics.

Then the Canadian filed a lawsuit with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which sided with the young mother and ordered the International Olympic Committee to provide her with a separate ticket.

Helen Glover (UK)

Another mother of many children at the Olympics will be British Helen Glover.

Rowing enthusiasts know her as the owner of two gold medals in double swing and three-time world champion.

After the Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, Glover ended her successful sports career to devote herself to her family.

In 2018, twins were to be born in the family of Helen and the famous British naturalist journalist Steve Backshall.

But misfortune befell them - one of the twins died long before birth.

A few months later, the former rower became pregnant again, and it turned out that she was again expecting a double reinforcement.

This time everything went well, and now Glover is a mother of three.

After the Tokyo Olympics were postponed for a year, Glover again dramatically changed her life and returned to the sport.

The return was successful - she paired up with Paulie Swann to win the European Championship in 2021, so the 35-year-old Briton will be able to win her third Olympic gold in Tokyo.

Nino Salukvadze (Georgia)

Georgian athlete Nino Salukvadze could talk for a long time about how to combine sports and family.

For her, the Tokyo Olympics should be the ninth in her career - this is a new record among women, which only three men managed to repeat.

For the first time, she competed in pistol shooting back in 1988 as part of the USSR national team and immediately won two medals, adding silver in pneumatics (10 m) to gold in shooting a sports pistol (25 m).

At six Games, Salukvadze performed as a mother, and five years ago she made history by coming to the competition with her son Tsotne Machavariani, whom she trains herself.

Never before have a parent and their child competed in the same Games.

To do it again, however, they will no longer succeed, since this time Tsotne did not pass the selection.

It is possible that Salukvadze will go to Paris in 2024 as a grandmother.

Elena Vesnina (Russia)

The Russian national team will be represented by several athletes at once, who will have their own personal little fan.

These are fencers Sophia Velikaya and Inna Deriglazova, and Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling Natalya Vorobyova, and synchronized swimmer Svetlana Romashina.

But they returned to sports for a long time after giving birth, and a year ago they were ready to perform in Tokyo.

Tennis player Elena Vesnina has a completely different story. In November 2018, she gave birth to a daughter and did not perform for two years, until she finally decided to return to the sport. In the highly competitive world of tennis, this is not so easy to do, but Vesnina managed to play in two Grand Slam doubles finals in just half a season. She has earned a chance to defend the Olympic champion title and will go to Tokyo, where she will perform with Vera Zvonareva, another mother from the world of tennis.
