LA Sparks is last in the Western Conference and faced a tough challenge last night when they met strong Minnesota Lynx.

Swedish star Amanda Zahui, who played 20 minutes, accounted for ten points, one return and three assists but that did not help Sparks.

It was another painful loss.

Sparks took the lead but Minnesota equalized immediately and then kept the lead throughout the game.

Lynx won 86-61.

- I think all players in the team have what it takes, otherwise they would not be here.

But at team level, we need to develop and work harder.

We have started scratching the surface of it, says Sparks head coach Derek Fisher on the club's website.

Before the match, Amanda Zahui received an award for her community efforts.

She is awarded the "May WNBA Care Community Assist Award" for, among other things, her commitment to LGBTQ issues, the homeless and minority groups.

The WNBA is now taking an Olympic break and Sparks' next match is not until August 16.
